Pro-Poverty Candidate, Karen Handel: "I do not support a livable wage." WTF?

Unbelievably, the GOP candidate for Congress, Karen Handel, said in a political debate that she, "does not support a livable wage."  Her exact words were, “I do not support a livable wage,” she said. “What I support is making sure we have an economy that is robust with low taxes and less regulation so that those small businesses that would be dramatically hurt if you imposed higher minimum wages on them are able to do what they do best: grow jobs and create good paying jobs for the people of the 6th District.” Another deluded political victim of trickle down economics.

Isn't saying you don't support a livable wage the same as saying I support poverty? The minimum wage in in the Georgia district she wants to represent is $7.25 an hour. What sane person would campaign on poverty as the solution for a robust economy? This demonstrates how out of touch politicians are at understanding how those of us not in their 1% club struggle to live and support our ability to eek out a living.

Georgia, you now have the power to stop this avaricious, merciless candidate with your vote. Too bad Ms. Handel has never taken a psychology class and studied Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

The basic needs of all people are for food, shelter, and protection of the elements are illustrated in Maslow's pyramid. ""Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect." Ms. Handel's assertion that a livable wage should not be supported in lieu of supporting her wealthy business interests is incredibly ruthless and cruel.

Take a stand Georgia-VOTE!!!
