The Marriage of the Summer Solstice and New Moon

This week marks the coupling of the annual summer solstice on June 20th at 9:24pm PDT and the New Moon in Cancer on June 23rd at 7:30pm PDT. Light is abundant as is the energy which springs from its emanation. The marriage of these two in watery Cancer thus supports a higher, gentler emotional vibration after a week marred by violence and injustice. The longest day of the year will support whatever transformational energy is needed to jump hurdles, realize dreams, and expand one's horizon.

The only downside of this week's celestial pairing is the propensity to use this blast of light and energy to frolic in a mania-like frenzy lacking focus or to infuse yourself with grandiose plans. There is a difference between high energy and the bi-polar tendency to escape by creating too much drama and unbridled passion for doing it all now.

Now more than ever, it is a time for setting aside what hasn't worked for what will. This choice is not about sacrifice but about seeing and feeling there is a better option. Stay conscious of what you lend your energy to because this solstice and New Moon lunation will help you thrive if you heed its call. Whatever has been fragmented is healing allowing a blank slate for a fresh beginning.
