The Autumnal Equinox

"I am created for a purpose that I am guided toward fulfilling.' Isn't this a lovely thought from the 'Daily Word' for this autumnal equinox morning? Sometimes we forget that the routine of life is not the only reality; we have been given the gift of inspiration and imagination to determine fulfilling another path.
Today the autumnal equinox knocks on our door at 1:02pm Pacific time. Just days after the New Moon in Virgo, this equinox is urging us to appreciate balance-the kind of equilibrium that allows a fresh perspective to emerge unblemished by the discursive thinking of opposing points of view. The Virgo New Moon days ago has also blessed us with a wake up call to begin anew. Today the day and night are fraternal twins, equal as we move into the season of brilliant colors, cooler temps, and the lessening of light.
"What does equinox mean? The word equinox was formed by two Latin words: "Equi" is the Latin prefix for "equal" and "nox" is the Latin word for "night." The equal refers to the fact that the amount of daylight and darkness on this day are nearly equal." -The New Jersey Times News
As we end one season, we begin another. We are reminded of the natural cycle of change. Endings and beginnings are always connected. What is the autumnal equinox asking you to begin and to end? From the point of view of balance, where are you headed in this transitional season?
We now enter the sign of Libra, symbolically represented by scales. This is another symbol of the need to weigh and measure where we are in our life. This need not be a heavy weighty time but one of lightening whatever is keeping us off balance.
          Happy Autumnal Equinox.
